General Note
This is a review of the accessibility of the theater, of the lighting/sound/scent design of the show, and a list of content warnings as a way to prep folks with various needs before they go see it.
This is not meant to scare anyone away from seeing the show. Most productions have about the same amount of content warnings and sensory warnings to go along with it, they’re just rarely explicitly written down.
For some people, knowing these things ahead of time makes it easier to enjoy the show because they know what to expect. And, often, makes those people more likely to see it in the first place. I hope that it’s helpful!
I am also happy to clarify any specifics, just send me a message or an email and I will respond when I can.
Also please note that I make these while seeing a show for the first time, so I may miss some cues or be slightly off as to their placement/cue line!

Light/Sound/Scent
General:
this show runs 90 minutes with no intermission
there is medium volume pop music playing before and after the show
I did not need earplugs for this show
the transitions from blackout to regular lighting are very quick, but these transitions aren’t super frequent. Also there are projections on the back wall with moving text/graphics that come up during the blackouts with medium volume audio but can occasionally be a mini jumpscare in comparison to the audio levels of the dialogue
The Show:
show opens with quick moving text projection, ~3-5 sec
“losing is not an option” - projections ~3-5 sec
“so what’s it going to be” - projections ~5-7 sec
“clarity. Absolute clarity” - projections ~10-15 seconds with a bit of a louder start and imagery/reenactment of January 6
“because I see now. You’re terrified” - projections ~5 sec
crescendoing audio into a blackout after AOC exits Pelosi’s office
Content Warnings
This play is a political piece centering around discussions between AOC and Nancy Pelosi about the state of the country and how to go about changing it. It also includes:
two mentions of SA
discussions of abuse at the border
discussions of sexism
discussions of racism
reenactment and imagery of January 6
