General Note
This is a review of the accessibility of the theater, of the lighting/sound/scent design of the show, and a list of content warnings as a way to prep folks with various needs before they go see it.
This is not meant to scare anyone away from seeing the show. Most productions have about the same amount of content warnings and sensory warnings to go along with it, they’re just rarely explicitly written down.
For some people, knowing these things ahead of time makes it easier to enjoy the show because they know what to expect. And, often, makes those people more likely to see it in the first place. I hope that it’s helpful!
I am also happy to clarify any specifics, just send me a message or an email and I will respond when I can.
Theater
Greenwich House Theater
All comments on the accessibility of lighting are in reference to seats in the center of the back row (K)
Bathrooms:
there is an all-gender restroom up the stairs to the left of the bar
Other theater accessibility:
there are 5 steps from the street to the orchestra level. If you need a ramp to enter, there is a temporary one - you can email them in advance about access needs at tickets@greenwichhousetheater.com
the back two rows of the orchestra level (J and K) are up on a slight step

Light/Sound/Scent
General:
the show runs 70 minutes without an intermission
it is a typical stand up show so if you need fidget toys to help processing audio that doesn’t have extensive accompanied movement (like in a play or musical), I would recommend packing one!
Pre-Show:
music is playing at a medium to loud volume
the lights above the back two rows are neon white, the stage is red, and the rest of the room is lit by electric candle chandeliers and red lights on the side walls with electric candles
The Show:
the lights in over the back two rows flicker off
the lighting stays pretty much the same throughout the show (effectively a plain wash over the stage) with the exception of a handful of changes at the end that are suuuuuper slow transitions between them
the first change is after/during the Death Cab for Cutie bit - the main stage lights fade a bit and the chandeliers get brighter
later the stage transitions to be a bit more blue
then later it transitions back to what it was initially (without the sides by the audience being red)
at the end the stage fades out entirely so it is just the chandeliers, followed by a full blackout
the music comes back during the outro at the same volume as the pre-show
Content Warnings
