General Note
This is a review of the accessibility of 54 Below as a way to prep folks with various needs before they visit.
This is not meant to scare anyone away from going. As I say when I review shows, most have about the same amount of content warnings and sensory warnings to go along with it, they’re just rarely explicitly written out.
For some people, knowing these things ahead of time makes it easier to enjoy their experience because they know what to expect and can accommodate their needs better. And, often, makes those people more likely to see it in the first place. I hope that it’s helpful!
I am also happy to clarify any specifics, just send me a message or an email and I will respond when I can.
Audience Access
The club is located down a full flight of stairs. If you need an elevator, ring the doorbell for the building next door (to the right, with the clear doors) and they will help you access the elevator to get down to the first floor.
Elevator note - it is very slow and will pause on the floor it arrives at for some time before the doors open, so don’t panic if it takes a while!
There is an ADA-accessible restroom, I believe it is by the elevator but am not 100% on that. The other restrooms are divided into the binary and located to the left of the bar. They are up a step or two from the main level.
There are limited accessible seats (primarily on the sides), so make sure to let them know in advance
For questions around accessibility and dietary/menu things, you can call the Guest Relations team at the number on their website
Performer Access
The green room is located on the 10th floor. If you need an elevator, ring the doorbell for the building next door (to the right, with the clear doors) and they will help you access the elevator to get down to the first floor. (The elevator is to the left once you get to the bottom of the stairs upon entering)
It is a large room with two dressing rooms on the side. Everything here is without steps, though there isn’t a lot of space around the central table should someone need to wheel around it
These bathrooms are also divided into the binary
The stage itself has 2 or 3 steps up to it
